Primary analyzer of the first ALICE Run 3 inclusive charged-particle jet measurement in pp at √s = 13.6 TeV.

Among the most active analyzers in the ALICE jet working group. Doctoral work centers on the R-dependent cross-section ratio shown below — ALICE Preliminary, presented on behalf of ALICE at EPS-HEP 2025 as the PWG-JE merge talk. Paper proposal targeted August 2026.

Modern parton-shower tunes converge with the data above ~40 GeV/c but diverge by up to 30% in the soft, large-R regime — a direct test of how non-perturbative emissions are modeled.
§1 Doctoral analysis · ALICE Run 3

Built end-to-end.

The thesis is the first ALICE Run 3 inclusive charged-particle jet measurement: pp at √s = 13.6 TeV, anti-kT with R = 0.2–0.6, |ηjet| < 0.2. I built the full analysis chain — detector-level QA on continuous-readout data, Run 3-specific cross-section normalization based on the TVX visible cross section, response-matrix construction, Bayesian and SVD unfolding, and a complete systematic-uncertainty program covering tracking-related effects and unfolding stability.

The R-dependent ratios shown above are the principal result. PWG-JE preliminary; presented on behalf of ALICE at EPS-HEP 2025 as the PWG-JE merge talk. Paper proposal targeted August 2026.

§2 Next directions

A coherent program of bias-robust observables
across O+O and Pb+Pb.

Three pillars, year-staggered. Radial observables make selection bias directly testable; photon tagging provides a cleaner recoil probe; together they let us study medium modification and medium response in a controlled way — across the LHC heavy-ion programs and the RHIC small-system data.

γ-tagged jet-shape measurements in small systems.

§3 Detector R&D · ePIC Barrel Imaging Calorimeter

Lead offline analyst,
CERN PS T10 (2025.07).

Pb/scintillating-fiber prototype, two 2025 beam-test campaigns. CERN PS T10 (July 2025) — lead offline analyst, paper in preparation 2026; KEK AF–AR (March 2025) — on-site DAQ shifter, equalization, prompt analysis, co-author. Co-author on the first beam-test paper, submitted to Nucl. Instrum. Meth. A (NIMA-D-26-00482).

On the simulation side I contribute energy- and η-dependent sampling-fraction studies in JANA2 / EIC-recon and Geant4 prototype modeling for the Korea-BIC software effort.

§4 Software & infrastructure · O²Physics

Made shared infrastructure.

I authored the PWG-JE cross-section normalization framework used by the SKKU Run 3 charged-jet analyses (pp 13.6 TeV and O+O), and merged a central-framework fix to the track momentum-resolution smearing methodology shared across analyses.

37 pull requests to ALICE O²Physics (18 merged) since 2023, covering jet finding, response matrices, systematic-uncertainty pipelines, hadronic-rate fixes, and central reconstruction.

§5 Mentoring & community

Brought others along.

Co-mentor of two MSc co-analyzers on the ALICE Run 3 O+O charged-jet measurement (SKKU, 2025–present); co-author with W. Ham on the corresponding PWG-JE Analysis Note. Co-organizer and instructor of the KoALICE O²Physics Tutorial (SKKU, January 2024) — a two-day Run 3 analysis-framework tutorial for ~22 Korean ALICE participants. Regular speaker at ALICE PWG-JE meetings since 2023.
